24 May WALKERHILL “Douglas House” Renewal Open
The Space of Recharging, the Space where the Time of Daily Life Stops
WALKERHILL “Douglas House” Renewal Open
The annex hall “Douglas House” of WALKERHILL Hotel & Resort (hereinafter referred to as “WALKERHILL”) receives guests with new features from the beginning of this April after 5 months of renewal from November 2017 to March 2018.
“Douglas House,” begun with long history of WALKERHIL, holds delicate consideration from the design stage for guests to have the “true rest” by stopping busy daily schedules and by having some alone-time. The optimal environment is implemented that the entire space uses eco-friendly materials and colors for comfortable mood and has the minimal settings containing only essential items for guests to have a rest without any interference at their own spaces.
New room types from this renewal are “Traditional Suite” and “Douglas Suite.” With the harmony of comfort of nature and Korean traditional beauty, “Traditional Suite” has a concept of ondol (Korean traditional floor heating system) to have a low bed and a sedentary table to imply Korean traditional culture. On the other hand, “Douglas Suite,” promoting comfortable and emotional interior design, has been designed to become the best place to have the perfect rest away from a daily life. Guests may have a sweet rest and enjoy reading a book by lying on a hammock hung in a suite or may enjoy a cup of coffee at two wooden balconies while enjoying nature.
The “Douglas Lounge,” where guests may look down Hangang River, has some simple meals, and it provides light breakfast of bread, coffee, and tea every morning. From 7PM to 9PM, guests may make their own cocktails with snacks or enjoy wine or beer at this “Douglas Hours.”
Moreover, for guests to cook simple food, there is an open kitchen with various cooking utensils and induction heaters. Guests may fry eggs in the morning and may cook with seasonal food ingredients from 3PM to 5PM.
At “Douglas House,” there is a library with many domestic and foreign books for guests to enjoy books in a quiet and comfortable atmosphere. Furthermore, there are meeting rooms for guests to be away from their offices to have creative ideas, multi-rooms to enjoy mini-pool and electronic dart, and other various amenities.
The free shuttle service between the main hall of the Grand WALKERHILL Seoul and the “Douglas House” is operating 24/7 for guests to move freely. For details and reservation, please call 02-2022-0000, and you may find more information at the WALKERHILL website (www.walkerhill.com).
