This Month's Unique Venue:
An eco-friendly resource circulation complex, the Seoul Upcycling Plaza

The Seoul Upcyling Plaza is the world's largest cultural complex dedicated to showing, teaching, and offering experiences on everything related to upcycling. It opened on September 5, 2017 to expand the environmental, social, and economic awareness of upcycling based on the city's vision to turn Seoul into a resource-circulating city by 2030, and to create an ecosystem for upcycling-based industries.

The Seoul Upcycling Plaza is where the valuable healthy circulation of production, distribution, and consumption comes from local residents’ participation. The complex helps to cultivate the upcycling industry as a future high value-added industry, and it operates as a space that promotes the diffusion of upcycling by holding educational programs, performances, and exhibitions where upcycling can be experienced in a fun way. It is expected to become a unique and interesting attraction in Seoul as an eco-friendly resource circulation complex that educates the public for the future of our planet.

The plaza features an exhibition hall on the first floor, and a studio space and showroom for upcycling companies, research institutes, associations, designers, and writers on the third floor. On the fifth floor, there is a training room where various upcycling education programs are carried out and a buffet restaurant that offers healthy, natural foods. The maximum capacity is 40 people in the training room on the 4th floor, 70 people in the conference room on the 5th floor, and 100 people in the outdoor area.
