During the orientation, the new members were given information about the activities and company performance of the existing SMA members. STO introduced the Seoul Convention Bureau's comprehensive MICE support programs, STO's main businesses, and general information about SMA. SMA's division representatives were invited to share stories about specific activities that SMA's members had taken part in, and there were active networking sessions between the representatives of the new member companies.
The schedule for the latter half of the year was also announced, which included the 2018 Seoul Mice Week that will be taking place in November. During this year's Seoul MICE Week, a variety of business boosting opportunities will be provided to the participants. Such opportunities include a consultation session in which various associations will have the chance to engage in business meetings with those in the MICE industry, a MICE forum where participants can expand their industry expertise, and an annual SMA meeting which allows for active networking between the member companies.
Starting next year, new members will get the opportunity to take part in joint marketing ventures with SMG at prominent MICE exhibitions overseas such as IT&CMA and ITB Asia. New members will be continuously equipped with tangible and intangible benefits that are related to business enhancement.
The new members who attended the orientation commented, “It gave us a chance to learn about the wide variety of benefits that are associated with SMA activities.” The members also expressed their high expectations for the future by saying, “We believe that we'll experience more business opportunities in the future through SMA.”
