Introducing Seoul’s New Unique Venues

The Seoul Tourism Organization (STO) designates and supports unique venues in Seoul to help MICE event organizers choose the right place for their events (see article). The STO has recently accepted more sites as unique venues to make events exceptional.

Riverside Facility
If you want something besides a traditional conference hall, try the venues alongside Han River, one of Seoul’s notable geographical features.

▹E-land Cruise1 이랜드크루즈E-land Cruise operates seven docks and two terminals along the Han River. Aboard the cruise ships, one can enjoy both meals and showcase performances after meetings allowing for a memorable event. It operates two cruise ships (Britania and Tritania) that can accommodate up to 200 guests for each ship but can also function as a private event for VIP attendees.

Modern Facility
Hotel lounges or rooftop bars are perfect to hold your meetings in an elegant and modern atmosphere while enjoying the views of Seoul’s cityscape. Venues run by hotels are especially recommended since they are equipped with impeccable services and facilities while providing a splendid open view.

▹ Hard Rock Cafe Seoul6 하드록카페Hard Rock Cafe with locations all over the world including London and New York opened Hard Rock Cafe Seoul in 2014. Hard Rock Cafe Seoul with a panoramic view of Seokchon Lake can accommodate up to 350 seats where guests can enjoy entertainment and dining at the same time. Built in a hanok, traditional Korean house, style with elementas of contemporary architecture, it houses an indoor hall, gugak stage, cafeteria, and studio where visitors can enjoy gugak concerts and Korean traditional cultural activities. Admission to the museum is free and is open all year round, welcoming over 200,000 international visitors annually.

▹National Hangeul Museum9 국립한글박물관The National Hangeul Museum is a public facility built to showcase and promote the cultural and historical value of the Korean written language, Hangul, considered one of Korea’s most-valued cultural asset. Selected as one of the 50 must-visit museums worldwide by the New York Times in 2015, it has various venues for meetings such as auditoriums and lecture rooms. You can also take advantage of its green open space able to accommodate events for 200 seated or the nearby Yongsan Family Park for a nature-friendly event.

▹Grévin Seoul10 그래뱅Grévin Seoul is the largest wax figure museum in Asia and the first Asian branch of the Grevin Museum in Paris. The Grevin Seoul features 80 life-like wax figures of some of the world’s top hallyu, global celebrities, athletes, world figures, and more including Kim Soo-hyun, Lee Min-ho, Albert Einstein, Queen Elizabeth II, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Cristiano Ronaldo, and more. ▹Seoul Grand Park11 서울대공원Seoul Grand Park is an attractive, large-scale venue with a long history. The open green area called Green Square within the park can accommodate 400 people while the park’s other square called Flower Rainbow Square can hold an event with 300 attendees. With an event hall situated in Seoul Land that can accommodate 500 people and Seoul’s largest ecology park, Seoul Grand Park is a Unique Venue perfect for large-scale events.
