Seoul’s Enriched MICE Support Program Introduced
Seoul held an information session regarding 2018 Seoul MICE support programs on March 29th for host organizations of international conferences and corporate meetings, as well as Seoul MICE Alliance (SMA) members. Approximately 100 people attended including the hosts of this year’s major International Conferences; the host organizations of leading Corporate Meetings & Incentives; inbound travel agencies; and SMA members.
Seoul will now be providing financial assistance for international meetings with 50 or more foreign participants for each phase that is involved in bringing over and hosting an event (bidding – promoting – hosting). Starting this year, participants who attend meetings that are being hosted again in Seoul will receive a Seoul MICE Card, and in order to encourage MICE sustainability, funding will be offered to partially cover the developmental cost that goes into creating event apps.
There are also a variety of benefits for organizations that host corporate meetings and incentives. Corporate Meetings & Incentives stay in Seoul for two or more consecutive nights with a total of 100 or more nights will receive a financial support. Foreign participants would essentially be receiving 20,000 KRW per person in support; an additional 10,000 KRW per foreigners would be offered if they conduct the city recommended tour program. Also, Seoul MICE Card will be provided when using three or more SMA member.
Aside from the benefits listed above, Seoul provides a variety of comprehensive administrative support in the bidding, promoting, and hosting phases of events. This support includes a video message from the mayor of Seoul to be used in bidding, 1:1 bidding clinics, Seoul welcome kits, Seoul MICE Supporters and more. Seoul welcomes the MICE events with all the rich and warm support.
