Seoul’s New MICE Brand to be Unveiled at IMEX Frankfurt
The city of Seoul will be participating in IMEX 2017 (The International Exhibition for Incentive Travel, Meetings and Events 2017) – the world’s largest MICE exhibition – this upcoming May. Currently in its 15th year, IMEX began in 2002 in Frankfurt, Germany, and is the largest specialized MICE exhibition in the world with the highest number of buyers, exhibitors, and media in attendance.
Seoul has chosen IMEX Frankfurt as the launching spot for its new MICE brand. Rebranded for the first time in 10 years, the new MICE brand is expected to be unveiled at an IMEX affiliated Frankfurt-Seoul MICE briefing session titled “An Evening with Seoul.”
The MICE Seoul briefing session, which will be held on May 16th at the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof Hotel will feature a banquet for 50 or so buyers and media from Europe and the Americas, and will offer information on Seoul City’s MICE support programs through a promotional presentation. As this particular occasion will be the first introduction of Seoul’s new MICE brand, the event is drawing interest from global MICE participants.
Meanwhile IMEX 2017 will be held over a three day period from May 16th through the 18th in Frankfurt, Germany. The Seoul Tourism Organization (STO) and members of the Seoul MICE Alliance will meet with buyers at the Seoul promotional booth as a joint marketing effort and to create a synergistic effect. Seoul also plans to introduce the 2017 MICE Seoul Support system with its newly added qualitative indicators.
In addition, the booth will feature various events to promote Seoul’s diverse appeal including a VR experience, a polaroid session with a traditional Korean military attaché, a stone rubbing experience, and a chance to make a scratch postcard of Seoul.
