#1 The Ritz-Carlton, Seoul, presents Sunday Escape, a package offering a truly relaxing Sunday break to leave guests fresher than ever for the start of a new week.
The Sunday Escape package includes 12 hours in a Superior Deluxe guest room, from morning to evening, avoiding the relentless heat of midsummer, plus lunch at Oksan Buffet. A choice of 9 or 10am check in is available, while lunch at Oksan Buffet is for two adults and one child up to six years old. Use of the hotel’s indoor swimming pool is also available during the stay, offering further fun and respite from the heat. The Sunday Escape package is priced at 220,000 won (plus tax and service charge).
“We planned this as a day-use package allowing guests to enjoy all of the hotel’s services and dining benefits on Sunday, just when they would usually be getting worried about going back to work on Monday,” says The Ritz-Carlton, Seoul’s marketing manager. “The package also includes use of the swimming pool, a privilege normally available only to overnight guests and members, which we expect to bring higher sales.”
Meanwhile, The Ritz-Carlton, Seoul is now holding a special promotion offering two whitening products from Isomarine to guests choosing Lazy Summer, its current bestselling seasonal package. Offering one night in a Superior Deluxe room and brunch served in-room, the Lazy Summer package is proving popular among guests in search of a relaxing break. #2 Oksan Buffet presents a promotional menu of dishes inspired by Korea’s classic medical text Dongui bogam, available from July 5 to August 31.
The promotional menu features a selection of medicinal ingredients mentioned in Dongui bogam that are ideal for maintaining health in the heat of summer. Discover a range of dishes including sesame seed stew with duck, rich in essential amino acids, folic acid and minerals, and meoui (bog rhubarb), ideal for alleviating feelings of heat and frustration and restoring strength; sweet and sour sea eel, great for restoring strength to weak constitutions; raw abalone with vinegar dressing, a refreshing option for boosting lost appetites; and cold zucchini and chicken salad. Other highlights include steady summer tonic sellers ox knee stew with medicinal herbs, steamed oxtail, and chicken rice porridge with abalone.
“We aim to restore health and energy by serving tasty and healthy food in summer, a season when the heat can easily suppress appetites,” says Chef Go Seok-bong of Oksan Buffet. “Our menu selection is wider than ever, ranging from hot dishes based on the traditional principle of ‘beating heat with heat’ to cold tonic salads.”
